COOKIE POLICY

Effective date: 28.05.2026

This Policy contains a comprehensive list of cookies and local storage technologies used by DonateOpen Co. on the website donateopen.com. All technologies listed herein are used exclusively to ensure the operability of the Platform and to perform the functions you have requested.

1. Strictly Necessary Technologies

These technologies ensure security, session management, and fraud prevention. The Platform cannot function without them.

NameTypeStorage TypePurposeRetention Period
donateopen_sessionStrictly Necessary, HTTP-onlyCookieAuthentication of the user's current active session.Session-based (deleted upon closing the browser).
refreshTokenStrictly Necessary, HTTP-onlyCookieRefreshing JWT tokens to securely extend or properly terminate the user's session.Until logout or expiration of the security token.
isLoggedInStrictly Necessary (functional interface)CookieAn indicator for client-side session restoration (determines whether an access token refresh should be requested upon application startup).Persistent (until the browser cache is cleared).
device_idStrictly Necessary (network security technology)Local StorageIdentification of the User's device for the purposes of fraud prevention, prevention of automated ratings manipulation by bots, and ensuring the security of financial transactions.Persistent (until the user manually clears Local Storage).

2. Functional Technologies

These technologies are required to operate specific Platform features activated by the User.

NameTypeStorage TypePurposeRetention Period
ref_idFunctionalCookie / Local StorageReferral attribution. Used to record the relationship between the referring referrer and the registering user under the terms of the DonateOpen referral program.Until the user completes registration or the standard attribution window expires.

3. Managing and Clearing These Technologies

Since all technologies listed in this Policy are strictly necessary or functional, the Platform does not offer a cookie consent banner or opt-out mechanism for them - disabling them would prevent the Platform from operating correctly.

Users who nonetheless wish to remove these technologies may do so through their browser settings (for cookies) or through their browser's developer tools or storage settings (for Local Storage entries). The practical consequences of doing so are as follows:

  • clearing donateopen_session or refreshToken will terminate the active session and require the User to log in again;
  • clearing isLoggedIn will disable automatic session restoration on next visit;
  • clearing device_id will cause the Platform to assign a new device identifier on next visit; existing fraud prevention signals associated with the prior identifier will no longer apply to the device.

Instructions for managing cookies and local storage are available in the documentation of the User's browser. DonateOpen does not provide technical support for browser-level storage management.
